MoonSpell at the United Church

MoonSpell at the United Church **This performance is at the UNITED CHURCH**

Join Corazón and Lalin directed by Allison Girvan together with our very special guest, Essi Wuorela, from the Finnish super-group Rajaton, for MoonSpell, an evening of music from around the world that seeks to weave the magic of the moon.

"The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished." - Deng Ming-Dao

Finnish soprano Essi Wuorela is an original member of the ensemble Rajaton. The Finnish word Rajaton translates as "boundless" a word that so accurately describes the way this six-voice a cappella ensemble approaches music. Regularly performing around a hundred concerts and workshops each year, Rajaton exposes their audiences to the kind of diversity of repertoire, singing style, and stage presentation that has made them a phenomenon on the world stage.

In 1999, Essi graduated from the Pop & Jazz Conservatory, Helsinki, Finland, as a certified music teacher. Today, along with engagements with Rajaton, she maintains a small private voice studio and works as a clinician for voice and choir workshops internationally.
