15th Annual Big Lip Sync Spectacular
Get your lips flapping and your hips shaking for the 15th Annual Big Lip-Sync Spectacular!
From rock to hip-hop, ballet to jive, country to Broadway musicals, all have been strutted upon the Lip-Sync stage.
'Now it’s time for you to live out your fantasy. Put on your feathers and sequins, and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame before hundreds of adoring fans,' enthuses Big Lip-Sync originator and the Grande Dame of Ham, Norma Kilpatrick.
'As always,' Norma says, 'all ages and all abilities are welcome. That is the joy of this spectacular event, everyone gets their moment in the spotlight, supported by the most appreciative audience in the world!'
To celebrate our 15th anniversary, a cavalcade of previous winners, including Joe Ringrose, Lisel Forst, Simon Yole and Adam Laurie will make guest appearances. Bessie Wapp, one of our most multi-talented local artists, will MC and keep the audience rocking!
A distinguished panel of judges, also professional artists from our community, will choose the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners based on Costume, Choreography, Lip-Sync-ability and Overall Performance. The audience pick their Favourite as well.
Prizes include cash, vouchers and gifts from Nelson businesses who generously donate every year. A special thanks to our major sponsors: WIN Thrift Store, Kootenay Bakery Cafe, Otter Books, Secret Garden Toys, the Kootenay Express.
This year, we have added a new category--Adult/Family Group, to bring even more fabulous talents to the celebration--as well as Kid Solo, Kids Group and Adult Solo.
Registration runs from February 9-24th. There is a registration fee of $8 per person which includes your ticket for the show.
Registration forms will be available at the Capitol Theatre lobby.
The Annual Big Lip-Sync contest is Nelson’s favourite family event and is always a sell-out! Tickets are on sale now at the Box Office and online.
