Jude Davison – “Circo de Teatro”
Circo de Teatro is local musician and composer Jude Davison's latest CD release, and a unique return to a full-on artist album.
Inspired by the book, 'Water For Elephants' Circo de Teatro is a truly unique sounding album that borrows and combines sounds from Americana, Roots, R&B, Dixieland and Mexican Mariachi music, and forges this with the story and theme of a traveling circus.
In a Tom Waits-esque manner the music brings to life the sights and sounds of a circus as well as many of its characters – the misfits, the freaks, the performers, who make their life working on a traveling show.
Utilizing a 10 piece band of some of Nelson’s finest and most seasoned musicians (Bessie Wapp, Sydney Gailbraith, Craig Korth, Tim Bullen, Keith Todd, Rick Lingard, Mark Spielman, Darren Mahe, Steven Parish) – this performance will bring to the stage the album in its entirety.
Jude Davison has been writing, recording, and performing original music for over 25 years. His compositions have been heard on radio, and featured on television shows (Baywatch, Cold Squad etc), and films around the world
He has co-authored two screenplay projects – Drop Dead Scene, and Slow Resurrection, both featuring soundtrack albums, and has recently written and scored his first Broadway-style musical called Cybersoul.
He has released a trilogy of poetry/music albums The Terminal City Trilogy and a trilogy of acoustic albums.
His 18 CDs have been released in Canada, USA and Germany.
